Local Doctors of Physical Therapy Renovate Historic Fleetwood Landmark:

Steve CammaranoREADING, PA – February 25, 2009 – A new era for a historic
Fleetwood landmark begins on March 16th.  The historic stone structure at 101 S. Richmond Street, which once served as the borough hall and retail space known as Soc-Hoc, is being restored byReading-Berks Physical Therapy to serve the community for physical therapy and sports medicine services.

Reading-Berks Physical Therapy will be moving five blocks from its current location at The Fleetwood Medical Center to a newly renovated and expanded site at 101 South Richmond Street in Fleetwood, PA.  The move comes at a time whenthe eight-office physical therapy practice is seeking to go beyond conventional evaluation andtreatment strategies, seeking new and innovative ways to serve its patients.  Reading-BerksPhysical Therapy’s renovation of this landmark shows its continued commitment to the community as it moves to the town center and invests in the revitalization of a historic downtown structure bringing business back to “Main Street, USA”.

Steve CammaranoSteve CammaranoThe extensive renovation of this property will turn what was once an old barn into a state-of-the-art rehabilitation center. The first floor of the main building will be converted into offices, a new reception area and additional enlarged private examination and treatment rooms.  The second floor of the barn will be donated for use to the localFleetwood Lions Club as storage space for their Medical Equipment Loan Program.  This charitable partnership with the Lions Club will provide equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, toilet seat extenders, bedside commodes and shower benches to community members as needed.  The professionals at Reading-Berks Physical Therapy will provide complimentary fitting and instruction, ensuring that patients in need will be given appropriate equipment during their recovery.

Steve CammaranoSteve CammaranoWith their central location and easy access, a new walk-in Sprain and Strain Clinic will be available.  This will provide for more immediate and expert evaluation and treatment by our board certifiedorthopedic and sports specialists.

“Although we had been at The Fleetwood Medical Center for the last 22 years and were quite happy there, our move to the town center provides opportunity for additional space and a more central location to serve our patients,” commentedDr. John Sallade, licensed doctor of physical therapy and Reading-Berks Physical Therapy partner.  “It is also gratifying to receive accolades from town leaders and residents supporting our efforts to revitalize the downtown area.  The other doctors and staff members are extremely excited about the combination of practice expansion and downtownrenovation.”
